What Support Looks like at Progression Care!

Independence Skills
At Progression Care, we are committed to empowering young people to develop the confidence, skills and independence they need to thrive. We focus on positive growth, encouraging each individual to take meaningful steps toward independent living and responsible adulthood. Through structure, guidance and encouragement, we support young people in establishing healthy routines and engaging in education, training or employment—helping them maximise their potential and build a strong foundation for the future.
To support this journey, every young person receives a personalised Independence Skills Booklet. This resource begins with simple, achievable tasks and gradually progresses to more advanced and defined skills. Designed to be user-friendly, the booklet provides clear SMART targets and offers a practical way to track progress, celebrate achievements and identify areas of growth.
Our independence programme covers a range of essential life skills, including:
● Budgeting
● Housekeeping
● Health and wellbeing
● Keeping safe in the community
● Communication and behaviour
● Housing and tenancy skills
Through tailored support and structured learning, we help each young person gain the tools, confidence and independence they need for a successful future.
Houses
Our homes provide safe, modern and fully furnished living environments where young people can feel comfortable, confident and proud of their surroundings. Each property is designed to be warm, welcoming and truly homely—not just a place to stay. We encourage all young people to personalise their space, helping them create an environment that reflects their identity and feels uniquely their own.
To further support independence, all of our homes are located in areas with excellent public transport links, enabling young people to travel confidently and access education, training, employment and recreational activities. They are also conveniently situated close to local amenities, such as shops, parks, leisure facilities and community services, making day-to-day living easier and more empowering.
Progression Care offers dual and triple occupancy homes across Southampton and the New Forest, ensuring we can meet a wide range of individual needs. Whether a young person thrives in a quieter environment or a shared setting, our homes promote responsibility, independence and a strong sense of belonging.

Our Staff
At Progression Care, our exceptional support staff are at the heart of everything we do. Each team member receives extensive, specialist training, enabling them to confidently support young people with diverse needs in a calm, understanding and effective way. Our staff are not just caregivers—they are mentors, role models and consistent positive influences.
Every home benefits from 24/7 on-site staff, ensuring young people always have immediate access to guidance, reassurance and one-to-one support. This dedicated presence creates a stable and nurturing environment where young people feel safe, heard and supported. Our team works closely with each individual to help them understand their emotions, manage challenges, recognise triggers and develop positive, socially appropriate behaviours.
We go beyond support by empowering young people to build the confidence and life skills needed for independence. Staff provide hands-on guidance with cooking, laundry, shopping, daily routines and other essential tasks—helping each young person grow in capability, self-belief and readiness for the next chapter of their lives.
